라운지톡 31화는 그동안 아껴둔 보따리를 풀어 보았습니다(웃음). 지난 달 팀 조스라운지는 오랜만에 문화의 날과 전체 회식을 가졌는데요, 인사이트 투어라는 명목으로 쇼룸 주변 북촌과 서촌을 함께 돌아보았습니다. 시각적 인풋을 맞추는 것도 목표 중 하나였지만, 그냥 같이 일하는 동료끼리 걷고 이야기 나눌 수 있었던 소중한 시간이었다고 느낍니다.

31화는 북촌을, 32화는 서촌 가이드를 예정하고 있는데, 지도에 있는 곳은 저희가 함께 가보았거나, 팀원 중 한 명 이상이 좋아하고 추천하는 곳입니다. 워낙 많은 분들이 아끼는 곳이라 부연설명이 될 수도 있겠지만, 북촌을 걸을 때 하나의 참고가 될 수 있다면 좋겠습니다. 모두 짧은 봄 행복히 즐기시길 바랍니다 :)

In Volume 31 of Lounge Talk, we’re finally unpacking the "bundle of treasures" we’ve been saving (laughs). Last month, Team JO'S LOUNGE took a long-awaited Cultural Day and team dinner. Under the guise of an "Inspiration Tour," we explored the neighborhoods of Bukchon and Seochon surrounding our showroom. While aligning our visual inputs was one goal, it felt like a precious time simply walking and talking with colleagues.

This volume focuses on Bukchon, with a Seochon guide planned for Volume 32. The places on this map are spots we visited together or are personal favorites recommended by at least one team member. Since many of these are already beloved by many, this might feel like adding an unnecessary explanation, but we hope it serves as a helpful reference for your walk through Bukchon. We hope you all enjoy the fleeting beauty of spring! :)

창경궁

[Changgyeonggung Palace]

왕을 위해 지어진 창덕궁과 (왕의) 가족들이 지내던 창경궁은 붙어있어 세트처럼 보이지만 서로 다른 매력을 품고 있습니다. 굳이 예약이 필요한 후원(비원)까지 가지 않더라도, 천천히 걸어 창경궁 안쪽에 있는 대온실을 둘러보고 나오는 코스는 복잡한 생각을 정리하기에도 좋아 추천드리고 싶습니다.

Changdeokgung, built for the king, and Changgyeonggung, where the royal family resided, are adjacent and often seen as a set, yet they possess distinct charms. Even if you don't book a tour for the Secret Garden (Huwon), we highly recommend a slow walk to the Grand Greenhouse deep inside Changgyeonggung. It’s a perfect course for clearing a cluttered mind.

밀양손만두

밀양손만두를 검색해보면 같은 이름의 음식점들이 나오는데, 체인은 아닌 것 같고 단순히 이름이 같은 곳들인 것 같습니다. 팀 조스라운지 문화의 날의 시작 코스이기도 했던 밀양손만두는 칼칼한 수제비 만큼이나 수육무침을 추천드리고 싶습니다. 주말에 막걸리 한 잔과 함께 곁들이고 싶은 맛입니다. (참고로 저는 혼자 갔을 때도 수제비와 수육무침을 함께 먹습니다.)

Searching for this name yields several restaurants, but they don't seem to be a franchise—just places sharing the same name. This was the starting point for Team JO'S LOUNGE's Cultural Day. We highly recommend the Suyuk Muchim(seasoned boiled beef) as much as the spicy Sujebi. It’s a flavor that makes you crave a glass of Makgeolli on a weekend. (For the record, even when I visit alone, I order both the Sujebi and the Suyuk Muchim.)

공간은 결국 그 곳을 지키는 사람이 결정한다는 생각을 하게 해 준 물과공기입니다. TXT 커피를 마주하고 있는데, 당시 매장에 계셨던 대표님의 어머님께서 안에 있는 기물들과 책을 하나하나 설명해 주셨던 기억이 좋게 남아있습니다. 멋진 공간은 많지만, 그 곳을 떠날 때 따뜻한 마음을 안고 떠날 수 있는 공간은 점점 귀해지는 것 같습니다.

A place that reminded me that a space is ultimately defined by the person who keeps it. Located across from TXT Coffee, I have fond memories of the owner’s mother explaining each object and book in the shop. While there are many "cool" spaces, places where you can leave with a warm heart are becoming increasingly rare.

타틸

숨겨진 보물 같은 빈티지샵입니다. 개인적으로 느끼기엔 남자 옷을 멋지게 입는 여성분들께 가장 추천드리고 싶은 느낌입니다. 실버 주얼리부터 옛 엔지니어드가먼츠의 스웻셔츠까지 다채롭지만 하나의 취향을 공유하는 제품들이 있는 곳입니다.

A hidden gem of a vintage shop. Personally, I’d most recommend this to women who enjoy pulling off a stylish "menswear" look. From silver jewelry to vintage Engineered Garments sweatshirts, the collection is diverse yet shares a singular, cohesive taste.

부빙

지나가다가 우연히 발견하게된 부빙 가회동 지점입니다. 올타임 클래식인 팥빙수부터 계절 과일 빙수, 흑임자나 카라멜 빙수까지 평균 이상의 맛을 보장합니다. 다음엔 기본 빙수를 먹으러 가보고 싶네요.

A spot we happened upon by chance while passing by. From the all-time classic Patbingsu (red bean shave ice) to seasonal fruit, black sesame, or caramel flavors, the quality is consistently above average. I’d love to go back next time for their standard bingsu.

정독도서관

문화의 날엔 시간이 부족해 보지 못하고, 추가 취재(?)를 통해 자세히 둘러본 정독도서관입니다. 그동안은 앞 정원을 산책하고 벤치에 앉아 빵을 먹는 정도였는데, 도서관 안도 현대적으로 리모델링 되어있고, 평일엔 여유로운 분위기라 언젠가 조용히 책 보러 오고싶다는 생각을 했습니다.

We didn’t have enough time during Cultural Day, so I visited again for a "follow-up report." Previously, I’d only stroll through the front garden or eat bread on a bench, but the interior has been modernly renovated. The atmosphere is so serene on weekdays that it made me want to come back one day just to read in peace.

미고 크라프트 하우스

부빙을 지나 조금 더 골목으로 들어가면 나오는 미고 크라프트 하우스입니다. 사진과 같은 공예품이 단정히 나름의 규칙을 가지고 놓여있는 샵인데, 사장님께 궁금한 것을 여쭈어보면 제작방법까지 자세히 알려주셔서 쇼핑의 재미를 더할 수 있습니다. (사장님께서 조스라운지 정동점을 방문하신 적이 있다고 해 더욱 반가웠습니다.)

Located a bit further down the alley past Boobing, this shop displays crafts with a neat, intentional sense of order. If you ask the owner about a piece, they’ll explain everything down to the production method, adding a layer of joy to the shopping experience. (It was even lovelier to hear that the owner had previously visited the JO'S LOUNGE Jeongdong branch!)

사진집을 전문으로 취급하는 팬이 굉장히 많은 서점인 이라선입니다. 이전에 서촌에 있을 때보다 여유있는 공간에서 은은한 햇빛을 받으며 귀한 책을 살펴볼 수 있어 존재만으로도 감사한 곳입니다. 절판된 책의 마지막 부를 발견했을 때의 짜릿함 역시 이라선의 놓칠 수 없는 매력 중 하나입니다.

A bookstore with a huge following that specializes in photography books. Compared to its previous location in Seochon, the new space feels more spacious, allowing you to browse rare books under soft sunlight. The thrill of finding the very last copy of an out-of-print book is one of Irasun’s irresistible charms.

서울공예박물관

처음 오픈했을 당시 굉장한 충격(P)을 선사했던 서울 공예 박물관입니다. 주변을 갈 때마다 한 번쯤은 이유없이 들러보고 싶은, 공간 내적으로나 외적으로 더 많은 사랑을 받아 마땅한 곳이라 느낍니다.

This place was a "huge impact" when it first opened. Whether for the architecture or the exhibits, it’s a place I feel like dropping by without any specific reason whenever I’m nearby. It truly deserves even more love, both for its interior and exterior presence.
